Embry Call gave up on imprinting when he was in his twenties. He figured he was different, that it was never going to happen for him. He accepted it and moved on. He fell in love with ***** ***** (wife with maiden name). It was the normal kind of love, and it was enough for them. They lived happily for twenty years, two kids came along, and they bought a house and a mini van. Embry knew that was it for him.
One day Embry went to visit Charlie Swan with Sam Uley. It was pretty routine; someone used to go with Sam about once a month to make sure Charlie was doing ok. Now that he married Sue, well it was more of a visit than a check up. But this time when they got there, there was already a car parked in the driveway.
Angela Weber had come to interview Charlie for an article she was writing. Once Embry saw her beautiful face he was in love. He knew it was imprinting, and he was horrified. He already had a wife and family, his time to imprint had past. But Angela was his life now.
Angela was also married, so Embry knew that it was best for both of them that he didn’t tell her about imprinting. It was hard not to love her, but instead he became her friend, it was easier than staying away entirely. One day, Angela came running to Embry, she was getting a divorce from Eric.
Will Embry be able to stay only her friend once Angela is a single woman? What will ***** Call (wife) do when she finds out her husband loves somebody else? What will Angela think if/when she hears that Embry has imprinted on her? What will Embry’s kids think of the whole thing?
